Description
A clear glass bell is swinging and ringing against a distant background of Christmas tree lights. The lights are but a blur because of the camera's depth of field. Text on the image, which would make a beautiful holiday card, comes from the first verse of a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. He wrote it in 1863 and it was not set to music for ten years. It is now a well-known Christmas carol.
"I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
and wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!"
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
