Description
Although it is the daisy that is traditionally associated with the chant "Loves me, loves me not", the imperfection of this coneflower immediately reminded me of the game long used by young people to determine whether the person he or she likes returns that affection. The game apparently originated in France where it is called "effeuiller la marguerite" - pull the petals off the daisy. Since the Echinacea (commonly called cone flower) is a member of the daisy family, the association is natural. Native to the central and eastern parts of North America, these drought tolerant flowering plants love open fields and prairies. They have been used in folk medicine to treat illnesses from the common cold to cancer, but there is no scientific evidence to support such uses.
If you decide to have this printed on a product like a tote or throw pillow, you will want to reduce the size and add a border top and bottom to make sure you get all the text.
