Artist's Description
The fog is lifting at Point Piedras Blancas near San Simeon, California, but a lingering mist continues to dim the iconic light station there. This view features the wildflowers and other coastal vegetation that cover the slope leading up to the lighthouse. Though it is no longer manned, the lighthouse still aids navigation and a rotating beacon flashes every 10 seconds. The station is now a historic park and wildlife sanctuary. I have applied a light painterly effect to this photo.
