Though cars are welcome and parking is usually pretty easy to find in the Old Market district of Omaha, Nebraska, there's nothing more practical than a bicycle in that area. I suspect its owner had ridden this one to work; it was parked under an awning outside La Buvette, a popular combination bistro and wine and grocery store. I wanted to play up the charm of the uneven brick streets and old, converted warehouses, so I boosted the saturation and gave this a painterly look. I also took the liberty of removing the locks that linked both the front and back tires securely to the parking meter and awning support column - and assured the owner that he would have transportation once she was ready to head home.
