Description
The patterns and colors of this peeling river birch (Betula nigra) bark prove that abstracts found in nature are infinitely variable and interesting. This is a mature tree, the bark of which ranges from reddish brown to dark gray, more blue in this light. Native to the eastern United States, this cultivar is relatively tolerant of cold and can grow where other varieties of birch would not.
