Description
A straight-on view of one end of the restored Palmer-Epard cabin at Homestead National Monument in Beatrice, Nebraska, gives one the sensation of looking at a cross section of many an old pioneer log cabin. Built in 1867 of squared logs and bricks, the structure consists of a single room with an attic above. This tiny building was served as a residence for over sixty years before its use was converted to the storage of grain. It was originally located about 14 miles away, but was moved to its present location in 1950.
