Charlie, a schnauzer, looks a little irritated in this dog portrait according to his owner. He probably just wished I would stop sticking my camera in his face and clicking. This breed originated in Germany over 500 years ago. Schnauzer means "snouter" in German and is used colloquially for "moustache"; the name comes from the dog's bearded snout. Because they are even tempered, schnauzer make popular pets.
