Description
The iconic Chicago Theatre, located in Chicago's Loop area, was built in 1921 as one of the Balaban and Katz chain of movie houses. It has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979 and is, both officially and unofficially, a city landmark. The design of the famous marquee dates from 1949. Behind the scenes tours are available and well worth the price of the ticket - this is a fabulous building with an incredible history.
