Chimney Rock is a well known landmark in Morrill County in southwestern Nebraska. The formation, created through the ages by wind and water erosion, was doubtless well known to the Native Americans of the area. Documentation in the form of journal references dates from the first quarter of the 19th Century. The view here is from the south as the sun was dropping low in the west on a fall afternoon.
