A partial view of the Des Moines, Iowa, skyline is framed by the arch of the Women of Achievement Bridge. This steel tied arch bridge is also known as the Center Street Bridge. A bike and pedestrian bridge, it links the east and west banks of the Des Moines River. Built in 2010, the structure has quickly become a city landmark. It is included in what is known as the Principal Riverwalk; sponsored by the city, the state, and Principal Financial, the project has encouraged city development and provides recreational and educational opportunities for many. The tall, gold, unusual shaped skyscraper on the right is called 801 Grand and is owned by the Principal Financial Group.
