With its chipped painted steps, mailbox that is slightly askew, and weathered wood door, this home in the Barrio Historico district of Tucson, Arizona, is a bit shabby now but it retains its Southwestern charm. The deep-set window and door tell us this is an adobe house, constructed of "bricks" made of sand, clay, water, and straw and then dried in the sun.
