Description
Since the saguaro cactus (Carnegiea gigantean) do not grow arms until they are about 75 years old, this is an old one, stately and beautiful in silhouette (or almost) at sunset against the evening sky. I photographed this one in Sabino Canyon in the Sonoran Desert near Tucson, Arizona. Its blossom is the state's wildflower.
