Description
This majestic Harris hawk landed briefly on a dead branch and then spread its wings and took flight. We had the privilege of watching it in flight at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson during one of their raptor flights. The birds they use live and are taken care of there, but they are also free to leave should they want. Harris's Hawk is a raptor of the desert Southwest. The bird is social and hunts in pairs or groups of three. Its sociability makes it popular in falconry.
I have a transparent background version of this image in my "Transparent" gallery. That makes it particularly suitable for apparel.
