Description
The wings of the rice paper butterfly, also known as a paper kite or large tree nymph, are almost transluscent so the strong light shows off their detail beautifully. The way this one was hanging almost upside down as it fed on the nectar of a flower reminded me of a single jewel pendant necklace, hence the title "Lavalier". The wings of this insect are black and white so converting the entire photograph seemed quite natural to me.
