Description
The pronounced network of veins in these dried hydrangea leaves were once the life lines of the plant. The mophead hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla) is known for its showy flowers, but as you see here, the simple leaves are just as interesting. Their pronounced midribs and veins and the serrated margins add interest to this nature abstract. What do the toothed edges remind you of? Dragon scales, a lizard's tail, an alien landscape perhaps?
