I created "Lost in the Rhythm", a kaleidoscopic abstract, from an image of a mandolin. Despite the distortions, the stringed instrument is still recognizable in the rhythmic repetition of the design. Though confined to a square, the final abstraction is mandala-like in its radiating, circular pattern. One comment called it a "nine part harmony" which I find very apt.
