Description
In a visual pun that plays on the metaphoric English language expression "a fork in the road" and inspired by the attire and stance of the man in Grant Wood's famous painting, "American Gothic", this Midwestern farmer farmer wears a button down shirt, overalls, a suit jacket and a cowboy hat and holds an old pitchfork while standing in the middle of a dirt road on his property. The literal expression refers to an intersection, the point at which a road branches out into two roads; the metaphor refers a point in an individual's life or in history when an important decision is made. The image itself has a painted look.
