Description
According to the 2010 census, Middle Amana is the largest of the seven villages known as the Amana Colonies. They are located in Iowa County in the east-central section of the state. Although industries such as the manufacturing of refrigerators, air conditioners and washing machines and what is known as "heritage tourism" are important to the local economy, communal farming has always been a mainstay. Here you see three large barns, each different in style and, probably, purpose, in a row. Beyond them you can just catch a glimpse of some of the homes in the community. On the left is the town water tower with the village name clearly written on it.
