To me, “Ring of Hearts” looks like a necklace made up of tiny, almost cube-shaped beads alternating with much larger oval beads laid on a black background which has soft, red hearts repeating on it in a circular pattern. It’s actually a kaleidoscopic digital manipulation of a photograph of a row of ceiling light fixtures. The source photo was gold and brown, very pretty; but when I saw the softly blurred, heart-shaped areas behind this circle of more definite shapes, I thought the image needed to be red.
