Description
Slow and steady, a tiny land snail makes its way up the trunk of a tree. These terrestrial mollusks locomote using a muscular foot; to help them move over a surface like the rough bark you see here, they secrete a mucus that reduces friction and also keeps their body moistened. I spotted this tiny specimen on the side of a tree in a woods in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in eastern Tennessee.
I have chosen to add the proverbial text "Slow and steady wins the race" to this image. This makes it an excellent choice for a poster or card, but please note that for some products the text will or may be cut off; as the buyer, you DO have options that allow you to adjust the image size and placement on the product, and I encourage you to explore and use them.
