The South Haven South Pierhead Light (properly not a lighthouse because the keeper's residence, now a research library of the Michigan Maritime Museum, is not attached) is located at the end of an elevated metal catwalk. In this sunset photo you see the light at the end of the pier; the city of South Haven pays the electric bills for lighting the walkway. The tower itself is only open during the city’s Harborfest in June.
