A trio of white water lilies, Nymphaea, floats on the black background of a shallow pond in a botanical garden. Even in the harsh, midday sun, the centers give off a beautiful golden glow that makes the blossoms look as if they are lit from within. The stark contrast of the dark background and white petals is very striking.
