Description
I'd never had watercress on egg sandwiches which a cousin told me was quite a treat in England, so I set out to grow my own. Apparently children often grow cress in eggshells as a craft and learning experience. They usually decorate the eggshells, plant the cress seeds in wet cotton wool or batting, and keep it damp, checking on its growth each day. Try it yourself and you will see why doing this is a very satisfying experience for a young child. The seeds sprout in days and their growth is very easy to see and fun to watch.
