Description
The eastern cottonwood (Populus deltoides, also known as the necklace poplar is native to North America. In the fall, its leaves are a riot of golden yellow, especially pretty when the sun shines on or through them. In the background of this scene is a finger of a small lake at Two Rivers State Recreation Area in Waterloo, Nebraska. The two rivers referenced in the name are the Platte and the Elkhorn. This part of the park lies along the former.
