Description
This second of two versions of a flat lay still life in black and white varies from the first in several ways. Most obviously, version I, titled simply "Marriage", is presented vertically rather than horizontally. But there are more subtle variations in the arrangement of some of the objects. Here I placed the round, black pot and all the black pebbles completely on the white section of the background; in the original, the pot and one black pebble straddle the two sections. So that they would show up, I inverted half of each so that it would be white against the black.
I decided to call both pieces "Marriage" because that word can refer to a combination or mixture of any two (or more) elements as well as a union of two people as partners in a personal relationship. The suggestion of harmony of opposites gives both a yinyang (yin yang, yin-yang) look and feel.
Please note: For vertical products I rotated the file in order to include as much of the still-life as possible on the product's surface.
