The chateau de Villandry, open to the public, is one of the most popular of the French palace-castles in the Loire Valley. You can tour the inside, but it is the extensive and varied gardens for which the chateau is known. They include ornamental flower and vegetable gardens, a water garden, terraces, and this decorative garden with sculpted hedges. This image is also available in monochrome and can be seen in my Black and White and France galleries.
