Description
This pretty little wildflower is commonly called bloodroot though it also has other names including bloodwort, redroot, and red puccon. Its scientific name is Sanguinaria canadensis . Sometimes cultivated as an ornamental plant, it is most commonly found on the floor of a woods and is native to eastern North America. I applied a light, crackle texture to the background of this image ("Wildflower - Bloodroot #2) which can be paired with a vertical presentation of the same flower, photo taken before the flower opened; bboth images are in my Flowers gallery. I recommend that you use the full-resolution preview option so you can see the texture effect clearly.
