Although you could put everything I know about them into a thimble, I find automotive abstracts fascinating. I love to go to a salvage yard and poke around, looking for interesting shapes. This old Delco Remy alternator is a case in point. The rust and corrosion might be a deterrent to a car buff, but to me they add color and texture. The alternator, with the battery, supplies power for the electrical system. You see the belt on the pulley? Rotation of the pulley generates an electrical current (AC or alternating current) which is then converted to DC (direct current).
