Description
The central plaza in Old Town in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has buildings similar to this one - Pueblo style architecture and covered walks in front of shops on three sides. On the north side it is anchored and dominated by San Felipe de Neri Catholic church. This district, officially the Old Albuquerque Historic District, dates from the 1700's and is the original site of the city. Today the area covers nearly a square mile and, in addition to the church and the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History, is filled with delightful restaurants, galleries, and shops such as the one you see here. During the winter holiday season, lights and a large tree in the center of the plaza add a festive touch.
