The insistence of plants to grow wherever there is even a little dirt and their persistence to continue to do so even when conditions might seem unfavorable always impresses me. We could learn a lesson or two.
I spotted these clumps of grass and the draping vine growing from a crack in a wooden bumper on the edge of the concrete east center pier of the Soo Locks in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. The wood is there to protect both the concrete and the ships and barges that come through the locks from damaging one another should a vessel bump into the pier while passing through or waiting to do so.
I use my camera to explore the world around me and as a basis for creative expression. Because I live in Nebraska, I have a fondness for rural scenes that will be evident as you explore my images, but I enjoy traveling and have many other interests as well. I hope you enjoy your visit.
