Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The leaves of the autumn blaze maple are gloriously colored when they turn in the fall. These had just dropped from the tree when we had a heavy frost which gave them even more color than usual in the early morning light.
