Artist's Description

The governor's mansion in Jefferson City, Missoui, is a beautiful red brick, three-story building with a mansard roof. In front of the residence is a fountain known as the Missouri Children's Fountain, donated by Melvin Carnahan (governor 1993-2000) and his wife, Jean. The current governor and his wife welcome visitors to take a tour of their stately home; a woman and her young son who have just done so can be seen coming down the front steps.
