Every spring I eagerly await the blooming of my bearded iris. When I was a kid growing up in New Mexico, the iris always bloomed for Mother's Day - and of course Mom always got a lavish bouquet lovingly cut and assembled by my siblings and me. Now I live in Nebraska and the iris are frequently a little too late for Mother's Day - but I enjoy them no less. This petal close-up is from a cultivar named Halo in Peach.

I use my camera to explore the world around me and as a basis for creative expression.
