At North Avenue Beach in Chicago, Illinois, a narrow pier, sometimes known as Hook Pier, reaches out into the waters of Lake Michigan. Almost at its tip is a small lighthouse, and from that point one can look back at the city skyline. At dawn, the skyscrapers glow and cast colorful reflections into the water as the rising sun hits them.
