A female ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) defends her feeding territory against the incursion of another. Their interaction is fast and furious, and the loser of this brief skirmish will soon fly off . . . only to return minutes later for another try. These solitary birds are the most common hummers in the Eastern United States where they breed in the summer months; in the winter, they migrate south to Mexico and Central America.
As a print, this image will have a sky blue background; however, I have uploaded it on a transparent background for use on products, so it's the buyer's choice there.
