Decorative koi swimming in a garden pond create a beautiful abstract of swirling shapes and color. Koi is Japanese for carp and these fish are Amur carp or Nishikiogoi. In Chinese culture, koi symbolize luck and hope for coming prosperity. In Japanese culture, they are symbols of bravery and strength.
