I spotted this odd pair of shutters in the Montmartre district of Paris. The building was obviously as much in need of repair as the shutters. I found the mismatched window coverings fascinating, both for their similarities (louvers, painted wood frame, L-brackets at top, solid panels in the bottom) and their obvious differences (the main one being that the left shutter is two hinged pieces which results in the slightly off-balance look). Upon reflection, I decided that the two might even have been designed to go together. What do you think?
