The delicate petals (tepals) of a fully open magnolia flower spread as if to embrace the light. Spring has arrived and the buds promise that the tree will soon be in full bloom. The magnolia is named after a French botanist, Pierre Magnol. The blossom here is presented against a pale dawn sky and has a fine, pastel texture overlay.
