Description
A tinsmith, also known as a tinker or whitesmith, makes a tin bread pan during a living history weekend at Fort Atkinson, Nebraska, a military fort on the west side of the Missouri River and now a State Historical Park. The fort was active less than 10 years in the 1820s, but during that time, it was very large and had more than 1000 residents. Now a dedicated group of re-enactors bring the period to life for visitors one weekend a month from May through October.
