The paint on this old barn is weathered and beginning to peel, but the building itself appears to be in use and in good repair. You can still make out a painted American flag, flying proudly between the loft windows. Because it's white, the barn seems particularly at home in the snow covered field. The blue sky sets this farmland scene off perfectly and completes the intimate, rural landscape. I took the photo in Sarpy county, Nebraska.
