The lines between the boards of the wooden fence are vertical; but from the right, morning shadows enter the scene on a diagonal while on the left dappled patterns of shade and light through leaves touch the shafts, blade and tines of the tools. Presented in black and white, this simple garden scene is timeless in its appeal.
