Description
A single woman's coat occupies one of six hooks on a wall-mounted coat rack. The black and white houndstooth pattern, so called because the broken check shape resembles the outline of a canine tooth, stands out against the rich, red wall of the room. The pattern began in Scotland in the 1800's but is still popular today, especially for winter jackets and suits.
