Description
The Gaillardia pulchella or Indian blanket as it is commonly called is an annual or perennial wildflower native to the central United States. Its daisy-like flowers are vibrantly colored: mostly orange-red with yellow tips as you see here though some varieties have deeper red petals and some have almost no yellow on the tips. It is a hardy plant that loves the sun and tolerates dryness well. It is the state flower of Oklahoma.
