Description
A black and white photo captures the beautiful architecture of a building's facade. The rhythmic symmetry of a row of five arched windows is accentuated by the contrasting, diamond patterned brickwork pattern that surrounds them.
At the base of the oriel windows, which are supported by corbels and surrounded by terra cotta detailing, is a balcony. This detail in on the north (Farnam Street) side of what is now the Rose Blumkin Performing Arts Center in Omaha, Nebraska. The theater, commonly called The Rose, was built in 1926 in a combination Classical-Moorish architectural style. Originally a grand movie palace, it has been known as the Riviera, the Astro, and the Paramount.
