Description
These simple but beautiful old wooden doors, flanked by thistles and other wildflowers and set into a roughly textured adobe wall, are a side entrance to the large, fortress-like Hacienda Martinez in Taos, New Mexico. The building dates from the late 1700s when a man named Severino Martinez expanded a small existing structure to a 21 room hacienda. Today the property is owned by Taos Historic Museums; it has been restored and is open to the public.
