Description
A tiny caterpillar, the larva stage of the moth Phosphila turbulenta, made its way down a ladder of mushrooms in the undergrowth of a small forest. Early on the larvae of this insect, a moth in the adult stage, are gregarious or group loving. They can often be found clustered in confusing masses on the underside of leaves. However, as they mature, they become more independent - as teen-agers have a habit of doing. I have paired this composite of a single caterpillar descending the side of a rotting stump with the oft used saying, "Where there's a will, there's a way."
