Description
The prairie coneflower, Ratibida columnifera, has several other common names including Mexican hats, upright prairie coneflower, or long-headed prairie coneflower. Long stalks or stems, drooping petals, and an elongated center seed head which blooms from the bottom up characterize this variety of wildflower. These flowers are great for pollinator gardens and xeriscaping as they are drought resistant and most at home in sunny, dry areas.
